Digitisation for Manufacturers (D4M)

Oxford Innovation 04.07.2024 3138 scaled

Leadership and management of the D4M project. Supporting SME manufacturing businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to adopt and implement tools and innovative techniques to achieve accelerated growth, improved performance and productivity.

Matt has over 25 years’ experience in senior commercial, operations, marketing and leadership roles. He has worked within multiple industry sectors including manufacturing, food, e-commerce and digital consultancy – both agency and client side. Matt started his career as a buyer, spending 8 years in London working in grocery home-delivery that attracted VC investment and a leading e-commerce retailer that sold to a PLC.
He then successfully led a start-up snack food business securing listings in Waitrose, Morrisons, Ocado and Holland & Barrett. Matt went on to support a leading digital strategy agency in preparation for a trade exit – working with clients including British Airways, Hertz, Citi and AB InBev.
Matt is passionate about supporting start-up and SME businesses and is very customer orientated. Since relocating to Cornwall in 2013, he delivered an ERDF funded SME investment readiness programme and has spent the past 6 years as MD of a family-owned business developing a multi-channel growth model aligned with international expansion.

Matt lives on the north Cornwall coast with his wife and two teenage children. He is passionate about food – growing, cooking and eating it! Matt and his wife love a project – they have done two major house renovations… and survived to tell the tale!
