Andrew Finley scaled

Andrew joined Oxford Innovation in 2010 and is a qualified business coach.. He has a wealth of experience in £multi-million programme management with a particular focus on programme design and delivery, innovation and strategic partnership development.

With a background in media, he held management positions in the national press and International Thomson Business Press before being appointed Publishing Director at Portsmouth & Sunderland Newspapers where he re-launched the flagship title, growing it into the largest selling regional weekly newspaper in the UK. He launched and grew his own contract publishing company with clients including Marks and Spencer, the YHA and P&O Ferries. Following this, he raised Angel and VC investment to lead a pioneering start-up developing innovative new web technologies that transformed the business of event marketing.

He led the development of our market leading SME diagnostic – GROWTHmapper, a digital application that has been used by over 40,000 SME’s across a wide range of local and national business support programmes including Growth Accelerator, The Manufacturing Growth Programme, DIT and IUK Business Growth.

More recently, he led the launch of Beacon, our innovative new early-stage equity fund which has received plaudits for the unique position it occupies in the market, solving a previous point of failure by transforming the pre-seed and early-stage equity market. He conceived our unique Access to Finance model which has supported over £50m in funding raises since it was launched in 2017. Andrew has a particular interest in the accelerated growth of early-stage ventures, equity investment readiness and digital commercialisation of IP.
