Growth Coach

WYCA Good Growth Programme

Paul is the Growth Coach for the new WYCA Good Growth Programme working alongside a team of Client Managers who will

manage the ambitious SMEs who apply and are welcomed onto the programme. Paul will be working with and playing his part in contributing to a pool of experience and successful coaches who have a strong track record in this arena of helping clients to deliver carefully created business growth action plans

Paul is an MBA who has also attained rare Chartered Fellow Manager status. He studied Mechanical Engineering (he loves manufacturing) and Business Studies, with two ONCs and two HNCs as well as a DMS. He was awarded the Young Enterprise Gold Award for his endless volunteer work with them over two decades. He is a big believer in skills development use of technology and continuous professional development for himself and his clients. He has been a Fellow and Member of the CMI for well over 3 decades and was Branch Chairman and President (plus Regional Board Member) for over 25 years. During his time at the CMI, Paul helped many hundreds of managers both young and mature, male/female plus ethnic minority, to develop, network and grow. He led the Doncaster & Barnsley Branch to become one of the top 5 in the UK, creating events that attracted record numbers, helped hundreds of members and guests, changed lives, drew accolades and won many Awards.

Over his long career, Paul has worked in most sectors and company types, as a Director he has led nurtured and developed many teams in the Sales, Commercial and BD arena and has delivered world class results for his employers and global clients. He has worked at some of the best automotive sector companies such as Tenneco, Dunlop, Cosworth & Eminox, and respected businesses such as Sheffield Forgemasters, Fulcrum, Remploy and the Design Council.

Paul has latterly been a successful provider of Interim and Consultancy support services for around 25 years. During this time he has delivered well over 100 challenging projects (in manufacturing & services), plus coached and mentored teams on many scores of productivity improvement, growth and transformation projects, provided commercial consultancy & delivered services for dozens of businesses of all sizes, as well as created and delivered training/coaching support and mentoring (and significant growth) to large numbers of organisations and individuals… He has a strong track record of recently delivered results in the Public Sector business support arena especially in northern manufacturing businesses, add to that 2 contracts: helping a list of beneficiaries on the lauded Rolls Royce driven Sharing in Growth and the successful NMCL leadership support Programme in Aerospace & Automotive, delivering the latest Productivity, Digital and Lean innovation across all business areas in the form of coaching, training and consultancy. These successes are added to by previous Public Sector transformation/project management work undertaken at Doncaster & Bassetlaw local authorities in retail/start ups and social housing respectively.

Away from work is a football and sports fan, watching the local team, whenever he can. He enjoys the theatre and travel to places of interest, and takes an ongoing interest in the environment and global warming.
