Karen is an experienced Business Consultant and mentor, a leader with broad and diverse business experience gained across various sectors including retail, wholesale, food and drink, sustainability, engineering and construction, and for a range of businesses from manufacturing to service businesses for public, private and the third sector.
She has experience working with many food and drink businesses in Cornwall, mainly around operations, productivity, infrastructure, as well as leadership and management, sales and marketing and business growth.
Her previous diverse experience in various businesses, helps to give first hand knowledge of success and pitfalls, and to share experiences (good and bad!) of the challenges in turning businesses around as well as scaling and rapid growth, and spotting and exploiting opportunities particularly in sales, markets and products. She has experience of working with SMEs through to large international companies with direct experience of navigating businesses, particularly through the operational and commercial changes to scale up and increase sales, markets, production and profitability.
Karen’s expertise includes business strategy, leadership and management, sales and marketing, business development, export, operations, commercial, change management and project / programme management. She is an APM qualified project manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
