Andrew Upton

Programme Manager

Transform Programme

Andrew supports start-up and high growth businesses in Cornwall to plan and implement positive changes. He joined Oxford Innovation in November 2016 as a Business Coach on the Breakthrough and Transform programmes.

He supports ambitious new, small and medium sized businesses to identify and plan for significant growth and how to overcome potential barriers. Expertise in leadership and management, strategic analysis and planning, risk management, people development and training, bid writing, governance and change management come from more than 30 years working in the private and public sectors.

Andrew’s experience covers senior and executive management, consultancy, teaching and research in the environmental, marine, education and social enterprise sectors. He has led technical and professional service departments in large organisations in the areas of marketing, partnership development and knowledge transfer, as well as working in small companies.

Andrew is qualified to doctorate level as a biologist, and also has an MBA and postgraduate teaching qualification. He moved to Cornwall in 2008.
