Learning with Experts

Learning with Experts is a community based online learning service. It has partnered with educators who develop their online vocational learning resource. through their platform Learning with Experts is promoting human learning interaction by eliminating the isolation of distance learners via a unique combination of ‘tribal community classrooms’, broadcast style curriculum content, and trusted world experts.

In addressing scaling up needs, Learning with Experts identified a case for talent acquisition and innovation for developing their tech platform. Additional Capital to drive these initiatives was needed.

Having approached Oxford Innovation’s angle investors through Oxford Opportunity Network (OION), Learning with Experts has participated in an investor showcase pitch, raising external investment of 250 million from business angels. Joining investors on this financing round included Rupert Pennant-Rea as the new chairman, a former editor of The Economist and Deputy Governor of The Bank of England.

Learning with Experts has won several awards for edtech and innovation including Best Website (Garden Media Awards), Best Education Site (Good Web Guide), and Finalist for Barclays Award for Innovation, Oxford Trust Enterprise Awards 2019.

Following the fund raising, CEO/Founder Elspeth Briscoe, formerly eBay, The Guardian, and Skype expressed that this is enabling Learning with Experts to execute on their hiring plan, to scale B2B, tech development and marketing teams and to hire new A list tutors for the consumer product.
